With many players calling off hotel projects will result in severe shortage for Commonwealth games. As of now,  there will be atleast 1500 rooms short from new hotels. Developers cite reasons such as delay in getting clearance, lack of competitive finance, viability etc., Among the 28 projects announced, 6 have called off, while the remaining 22 are in a state of indecision.
