Conventional Hotels to set up Hyatt Palace in Bangalore

Convention Hotels is setting up a new 5 Star hotel "Hyatt Place" in Bangalore. The new hotel will have 260 suites and is likely to go operational in March 2012. Bangalore Hotels remain optimistic about 2010

The year of 2009 in Bangalore saw new hotels being added up. Vivanta by Taj, , Zuri, ITC Royal Gardenia and the Premier Inn have opened have very low occupancy rates. However, in early January 2010 the occupancy levels are around 50% and expect to reach 60% by first quarter. There are around 3200 five star rooms in Bangalore which were patronized by senior corporate executive and 2000+ mid scale category rooms depends largely on business travellers. Bangalore, which depends on business travellers more than any other city-like Pune, was hit hard by recessionary trend. With few conferences and events Bangalore looks forward in 2010 and hope for early stability after arrival of new hotel destinations.

Phoenix Group plans a 150 room hotel in Bangalore


Phoenix Group, a Bangalore based multinational conglomerate is planning to set up a 150 room hotel in Devanahalli, near Bangalore Airport. The project will take up investment of Rs.2500 million and clearance for hotel is still awaited. It may be noted, the company has recently opened Zuri- a 160 room 5 star hotel in Whitefield in Bangalore with expertise from Carlson. The group has already a 154 room Radisson White Sands Resort, a 106 room County Inns & Suites in Goa and a 72 room Radisson Plaza resort in Kumarkaom. It is learnt, the company may rebrand all hotels under the brand Zuri –with tagline of Welcome Back

Aeroshow in Bangalore helps hotel bookings

 
 
Despite the sluggish outlook, the defence sector is active and it shows in the no. of bookings for  participants for the aeroshow. Though there were a slight increase in tariff, the bookings are good. When compared to last year, there were around new 300 rooms added in Bangalore. With many bookings made in advance, hotel industry will look for some more shows !
