Parkside Hotels to expand Indian operations

Parkside Hotels , a global chain of hotels present in budget and luxury segment is entering India and South Asia. It is exploring opportunities to tie-up, lease properties in Amritsar, Dharmashala, New Delhi, Jaisalmer and Udaipur. It will bring Parkside Zebra Inn for budget travellers and Parkside Suites for luxury segment, where the price ranges from Rs. 30000 a day to Rs. 1,00,000 a day. The company had signed so far half a dozen properties

Pride Hotels to set up budget hotels in Hyderabad and Kochi

Pride Hotels, a SP group company is planning to invest Rs.1400 million to set up budget hotels in Hyderabad and Kochi. The new hotel will up under the brand “Pride Biznotel”. It plans to acquire 1 acre of land in the city for which legal diligence process is on. It plans to start construction soon and to complete by 2011. Each hotel will have 100 rooms. Currently, the group operates 5 hotels in Ahmedabad, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai and Nagpur with an inventory of 1000 rooms.

Automatrix plans 4 new hotels

Automatrix Hotels Pvt Ltd is planning to invest Rs. 5000 – Rs. 5500 million to set up 4 new hotels across India. It is likely to add 830 rooms across 5 cities. Recently, the company had opened a 130 room hotel in Chennai built at a cost of Rs.900 million. It is setting up a 170 room hotel in Bangalore which will go operational by end of 2010. It plans to add 180 room hotel in Coimbatore, a 170 room hotel in Ahmedabad and a 180 room hotel in Chandigarh. It may be noted, Automatrix belongs to Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc

Taj Group setting up Taj Vivanta -5 star hotel in north east

Taj Group is venturing into north east by setting up a 5 star hotel in Guwahati. The project will entail an investment of Rs.950 million which will be named as “Taj Vivanta” and will come up by 2012. It is coming up on Khanapra on GS Road and will spread over 4.5 acres. Taj Group is also planning a 5 star hotel in Shillong, Meghalaya and it is to submit a formal proposal to the state government to seek assistance.
